AMEDD BOLC Week 5

Week 5 was the last week prior to field training. This week focused on a host of functions that we would perform while in a field environment.

Day 1: Started with PT. We then had instruction on military justice, law of war, ethics, code of conduct, and legal issues.

Day 2: Soldiers gave their presentations on their chosen topic. I did mine on PTSD criteria and where to refer. We then changed into our ASU and had another inspection. We then got a brief on what to expect during FTX the next few weeks.

We also integrated with the reserve component Soldiers, who only needed to do a shortened version of the class. It was fun to see some friends from back in DCC. It also changed the dynamic of the platoon, as new faces and personalities taek time to fully integrate.

Day 3: Started with PRT. We then had marksmanship instruction and shot at the EST (a computerized shooting lane)

Day 4: we had discustion on convoys, operations orders, and reviewed for the final exam.

Day 5: I began my student leadership position today as the Platoon Sergeant. It was a unique and challenging opportunity as I planned and executed various operational functions throughout the first week in the field.

Started with PT. We then took the final exam (everyone passed). We then discussed mission planning for roles 1-3. We wrapped up the day with instruction on land nav. This was our last day in the classroom.

We received our safety brief and were given a time to drop off our gear for the three weeks of FTX.
